Skillshare Course

Virtual Reality for Artists: How to Bring Illustrations into 3D with Tilt Brush

I’m so excited to share this course with you! In this class, I take you through my whole approach of recreating an illustration in Virtual Reality. This is aimed toward people who have experience in illustration/ painting/ design, ie. you already have made images, but who would love a guide to take them into this new dimension. I use the program Tilt Brush because it’s easy to use, and can be accessed by the Oculus Quest!

It’s pretty in-depth, and I hope it’s fun to watch and useful for budding VR artists.

Here’s the VR piece I make in the class, step by step! (not including the step of illustration in Photoshop) :)

SIGGRAPH/3D Motion Show Talk

I was invited by MAXON, creators of Cinema4D, to do a talk at the Siggraph Conference 2020. Because of the global pandemic, we brought the content online instead. Follow the link below to watch it.

In this talk I shared the problem-solving we’ve developed at Gunner to work between Cinema4D and two of my favorite VR modeling programs, Oculus Medium and Oculus Quill. It’s an hour of content, showing my process via four different projects, including the Blend opening titles. I hope it’s helpful to you!

*Just a tech note about this talk!
I’ve had a few people ask me how I got VR to work on a Mac, because you can see a Mac interface in this video when I’m working in C4D. I can totally see how that was confusing - but I’m not running VR on a Mac! I run it on a big ole PC, and use Dropbox to access the files on a Mac desktop.
